Vs 1 - The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
- LORD = Yahweh
- A Covenant name of God
- And because of this, I shall not want - I have everything I need!
- We have an assurance of our life because He lives!
- When you have confidence in Him, you won't be worried about anything!
Vs 2 - He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
- He is leading your to the peace and blessing you seek.
- Still waters/ Peaceful streams - you are Safe!
Vs 3 - he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
- In waiting, there is timing.
- He will renew your strength to persevere and not give up! (Steadfast faith)
- He restores your soul - He tells you, you can make it! (I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me)
- Tell Jesus, "I need you, oh I need you, every hour I need you..."
May your strength be renewed in Jesus name! To Move ahead to another level!
- Everything God is doing in your life, He is doing that to bring Honour to His name!
- Even when you go through hard times, God still wants to get glory and honour through what you experience...
- "Have you seen my servant, Job?"
- Whatever you are going through, let that situation bring glory and honour to God.
Vs 4 - Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
- I will never leave you, nor forsake you.
- God will never give up on you!
- Sometimes it feels like death all around you, "the valley of the shadow of death", but God will always be with you.
- You will face deep waters but not drown.... fires but not be burned!
Vs 5 - You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
- His promises stand regardless of time!
- Your covenant-keeping God will do what He said He would do!
- God is on your side - preparing good things for you even despite your enemies. To promote you in front of those who took advantage of you.
- God has accepted you and your cup overflows with blessings.
Vs 6 - Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
- Nothing is Better than You, Lord!
