Lessons from the 7 Churches of Revelation - Pt 2: Smyrna - Don't give up...Keep the Faith

⁸ “And to the ^[a]angel of the church in Smyrna write,

‘These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life: ⁹ “I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a ^[b]synagogue of Satan. ¹⁰ Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

¹¹ “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.” ’

Vs 8 - "To the angel of the church..."

• A pastor is an important part of a church - we need to pray for a leader who will lead the church in the right way-
• It starts with us as leaders!
• "These things says the first and the last" (Alpha & Omega)
• He is here throughout generations
• He sees everything you are going through
• He is the God of His Church
• We are all headed to the same heaven - there is only 1!

Vs 9 - "I know your works, tribulation, poverty (but you are rich)'

• Physically, it may seem bad but you are more blessed than you realize.
• *If you have Jesus in your life, you have everything you need in this world and you are rich beyond measure!

Vs 10- "Do not fear anything you are about to suffer.."

• More is coming, but don't be afraid!  "I was dead but now I'm alive", "I am always with you!"
• Be faithful and don't give up!
•  Keep the faith and focus-
• "Be faithful until death and I will give the crown of life"  (and it will be worth it!)
• You will escape eternal death to have eternal life!!

Keep the faith until the very end of your life!
