Jesus Loves the Little Children

Mark 10:13-16   ^"People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. ¹⁴ When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. ¹⁵ Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” ¹⁶ And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them."

Jesus Loves the Little Children

• Bringing vs Sending - Mark 10:13 "People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them."  Bring...don't just send...go with them to Jesus!
• Remove every obstruction that might prevent the children from coming to know Jesus.
• There is never a good reason to keep children away from Jesus!
• Isaiah 55:11 "so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."

2.  Jesus criticized those who blocked them

• Mark 10:14  ^"When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."

3. Jesus Calls the Little Children to Come Near

• He continues to call children unto Himself
• He will often put a special call on a child's life while they are young (many are saved as children)
• *Encourage our children to pursue and hear the voice of God!

4. Be like the Children!

• Have faith like a child-  Matthew 18:3-4 "And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. ⁴ Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."
• Jesus uses children as a model of salvation
• Be like a child - humble, trusting, full of pure faith

5.  Jesus wants to Embrace them

• You know the tender touch of our Heavenly Father - nothing can separate us from the love of God.

Roman 8:38-39   "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, ³⁹ neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Jesus loves the little children - God has a remarkable work for each and every one of them.

Joel 2:28-29   “And afterward,
    I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
    your old men will dream dreams,
    your young men will see visions.
²⁹ Even on my servants, both men and women,
    I will pour out my Spirit in those days.

God has a special plan and a purpose for each one of these children. 

• Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Let's pray for them to know His Voice!
