How do you get from where you are to where God wants you to be?

Joshua 3:1-3  "Early in the morning Joshua and all the Israelites set out from Shittim and went to the Jordan, where they camped before crossing over. After three days the officers went throughout the camp, giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it."

God has a plan and His timing is the only timing that matters...

1. Wait on God

  • Joshua 3:3-5 "giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about two thousand cubits between you and the ark; do not go near it.” Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.”
  • "You have not passed this way before..."
  • "Tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you..."
  • Look to God for the way through... only He can part the waters!

2. Trust God

  • You may have to get your feet wet, but the moment you do, He will part the waters
  • God can make a way through your "impossible"
  • Joshua 4:1-3  "When the whole nation had finished crossing the Jordan, the Lord said to Joshua, “Choose twelve men from among the people, one from each tribe, and tell them to take up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan, from right where the priests are standing, and carry them over with you and put them down at the place where you stay tonight.”

3. Remember God

  • Don't forget what He has done for you
  • He's been faithful before, He'll be faithful again.

4. Look to God

  • Leave a marker - record what God has done for you - leave a testimony - tell people all about it!
