"That Whoever Believes in Him"

The Bible - is considerably more valuable because it reminds us of God's Best Work!
John 3:16 'For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Whoever: the word 'whoever' unrolls the welcome mat of heaven to all of humanity.
- God's invitation is for Everyone!
There are numerous 'whoever's' in scripture:
- Matt. 10:32
- Matt. 10:30
- Mark 16:16
- etc...
God's gospel has a 'Whoever' Policy...
2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."
God's 'Whoever' Policy also means Whenever...
Luke 23:43 "Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
God's 'Whoever' Policy also means Wherever...
- Where there is life there is Hope.
- Wherever we are, we are not too far to come back to God.
The Prodigal Son - Luke 15
- rather than swallow the pig pen pods, he swallowed his pride to go back to his father...
- Luke 15:20 He ran to his son...threw his arms around him and kissed him...
- He was watching and waiting for his son to return! God is also watching and waiting for us to come back to Him!
"Whoever" is God's Wonderful Word of Welcome!
- God's open invitation to everyone!
"Believes"
- Although everyone is invited, not everyone responds...
- God loves, God gives and then we must Believe!
John 6:28-29 "Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” 29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
John 1:12 "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—"
Acts 4:12 "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
John 14:6 "Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
James 2:19 "You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder."
Faith should compel you to trust, follow and obey...out of gratitude and love!
2 Kings 5 - story of Naaman
- He wanted something spectacular...not to bathe in the dirty, Jordan river.
- He wanted his own way...not to obey
- His healing didn't come after the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd dip...but after the 7th!
- Trust...don't give up...obey what God has told you to do!
Believe...trust and obey for there's no other way!
