Deuteronomy 31:7
“...Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance."
Preparing for Leadership:

- The Enemy Attack
- The Support System
- The Source of Victory
1. The Enemy Will Attack
Exocus 17:8-9
- Our enemy - do we recognize this?
- The enemy will find you even on the mountaintop
- The enemy shows no mercy
Just when you think you have it all together, that's when he attacks...
- We have a choice
- We are all leaders
- Do we choose from the strong - from within us?
- We are not an island
- We need to lean on the wise and experienced
- God's people - these are God's staff
1 Peter 5:8
'Be alert and of sober mind...the enemy, the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."
2. The Support System:
Exodus 17:10-11
- No leader leads alone... Obedience
- Engaging the enemy, not retreating
- Fighting the Good fight as a warrior leader in obedience to God
Leaders (pastors, parents etc...) are human...they are fallible and make mistakes...
*Only God (and His Word) are INFallible!
- Search the scriptures for yourself (be like the Bereans...research and learn for yourself)
Are we Obedient? Do we put on the Armour of God to fight the enemy battles?
- What is our Support System? The Church
- Are we a part of the support system?
- The support system must not give up! (As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning! and Joshua's Victory depended on Moses)
- Our support System may grow weary - then we lose the battle fought by our leaders
- We are a team - warriors - prayer and leader
Romans 12:16
"Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion."
(Do not overestimate your own strength - we ALL need support!)
3. The Source of Victory -
Exodus 17:12-13
- They took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it... then helped him hold up his hands
- Our church family is human - it grows weary
- We need helpers - our "Aaron and Hur"
- But we must rest on the Foundation Stone! (Jesus- the Rock!)
- We have God - our support and Source of Victory!
- Our biological family and our spiritual family
- Those we have learned to trust working together
- Choose wisely - look for consisten support
- *Without God, I can do nothing! His staff gives you the Victory!
2 Timonth 4:17 - "But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear."
Why does the Lord stand by your side?
- So that you might lead others to Him!

*BE A JOSHUA! -Strong & BOLD!*
