Good Friday: "Good for Who?" - Isaiah Mast

Everyone knows what the cross is...the cross is the worst form of torture and worst way to die. Crucifixion was designed to create the worst form of pain, humiliation and torture...
Good? -
- it was good because God had a plan...
- Because He loved us too much to leave us lost and condemned in our sin...
- Because Sunday's coming!
- He conquered sin & death and rose on the 3rd day!
Luke 23:39-43
"One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”
40 But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Good Friday is good for the sinner, for the criminal who's sentence is pardoned!
He made a way... He went all the way to the cross to find you and rescue you!
Romans 5:6-8 "You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
It is Good Friday, because God was Good to the Sinner!
I am a sinner and I deserved that death but thank you, Jesus, that you had me in mind at the very beginning - Friday is GOOD for a Sinner like me!
