Ephesians 6:11

  • "Put on the Full Armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes."

Helmet of Salvation

Ephesians 6:17a "Take the helmet of salvation..."

1- What is Salvation?

  • John 1:12-13  "But to all who received Salvation..."
  • Sin = Death
  • "For the wages of sin is death" - Romans 6:23
  • Jesus = Life
  • "That everyone who believes may have eternal life in Him" - John 3:15

Romans 10:14-15

  • "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

2- Keep the Helmet of Salvation in Place

  • Philippians 4:8 "Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, think about such things."
  1. Renew our minds
  2. Reject doubts that arise from circumstances
  3. Keep an eternal perspective
  4. Remember, our victory is already accomplished
  5. Find all our Hope in Him

Philippians 4:7 "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

Isaiah 26:3 "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you."

 

The Sword of the Spirit

  1. Train to use the Sword
  2. The Power of the Sword

Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

1 - 5 Ways to Train to Use the Sword:

  1. Read your Bible regularly
  2. Study the Word of God Faithfully
  3. Believe and Proclaim God's Truth
  4. Evaluate your life in light of God's Word
  5. Put the Word of God into Action

2 - The Power of the Sword

2 Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness."

Sword in Action

  • Luke 4:3-4

    "The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”

    4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.

  • Deuteronomy 8:3 "He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord."  
  • Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
