THE LION OF JUDAH HAS CONQUERED
REVELATION 5:1-14


Introduction:


Almost all New Testament scholars believe that the book of Revelation was written during the reign
of Domitian, sometime around 95-96 AD.


THE BOOK CAN BE DIVIDED INTO THREE MAJOR SECTIONS:


Revelation 1:19, “Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later.”
- Things that had already happened (including the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of
Jesus Christ).
- What was happening: (Persecution of the church - no wonder John is at Patmos, and the
perseverance of the saints).
- Things that will happen: (The second coming of Jesus Christ).
Revelation 5 falls in the first category, describing what happened in the “spiritual world” during the
death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ.
